Update: QR Codes ARE Here To Stay! - Evolved Mommy
Remember that little post I did about QR codes? Oh Lord. Let’s refresh: QR stands for “Quick Response.” These are the little black and white… Never mind. You can read the original post here.
My point is this: Mashable agrees with me. These little thingies are here to stay. In a world of ever-changing shiny objects, this one looks to have real staying power (for now).

I like the (for now) at the end of your post. Chan’s post is actually one I whole heartedly agree with and I see #QR codes as a solid option for another 2-3 years, perhaps as long as 4-5. As higher end smart phones adopt NFC chips we’ll eventually see these overtake QR codes but market penetration is several years away and QR codes will be standard fare by mid 2012. I dig them.
Starting a QR campaign at a church to drive people holding bulletins to a social landing page. My first targeted campaign and the demographic is very mainstream. I’ll be interested in how the stats turn out.

I think steve and I may be the only people in our little church that have smart phones. Sad, but true. Our pastor does have an iPad, and uses it for his sermon notes. I’ll be curious to see how your campaign turns out.
