Here We Go! More Apple Updates as the Apple Store Goes Down - Evolved Mommy
Hey folks, Steve here. (Or Scratic, EvolvedDaddy, whatever you want to call me)
Stephanie is toiling away in the real world, so I’m filling in to keep everyone up to date. There have been a few developments since her post this morning, some of them are bigger than others.
iPhone 5 Possibly Available for Pre-Order Today?
First off, the Apple Store is down! This could mean a few different things. Most importantly, it could indicate that previous guesses to the availability of the new hotness might have been a little off. This could indicate that they are prepping the store for iPhone 5 orders today, not Friday. It could also mean that they’re simply adding placeholders with all the info about their new baby before it becomes available to order on Friday, hard to say for sure. Additionally, it might just be that they are adding any of the other new products that will be announced today, i.e.: new iPods, cables, cases, iMacs, who knows?
Next, the rumor mill is aflutter with news that iTunes 11 might be released after today’s keynote. What could this mean for you?
- Easier syncing,
- Streamlined purchasing, and
- More of a focus on the iPhones’s interaction with the store itself.
- It’s rumored that the new iTunes will be faster and will feature a much simpler interface.
Other Apple Rumors
What else? Searches on Apple.com for iPhone 5 actually turn up results. Among them are mentions of LTE connectivity with iPhone 5 and a premature mention of press releases announcing new iPods and the new iTunes.

iCloud Mail Outtage
Lastly, and mainly just because I wanted to say “lastly,” if any of you have felt the effects of the iCloud mail outage, I have it from someone on the inside that a fix should be in place by the end of the day. She went on to tell me, although she wasn’t authorized to do so, that things should be up and running for everybody by noon, Central time. This would make sense as Apple would want everyone to be focused on the announcement rather than with any problems with their services. I have personally been without email for two days, but that’s a post in itself.
That’s all for now, we’ll keep you updated as things evolve. If you have any tips, questions or comments, send them our way!
