Knit Hats and goodies - Evolved Mommy
Since I first found out I was preggars, I’ve been a knittin’ fool.
First I did a multi-stripe blanket, which I now hate, so if you’re one of my 12 friends that are also expecting…watch out! It’s coming to you as a gift.
Then I started with hats. I tried to keep them gender neutral, but now that I know I’m having a girl, they all look like they were made for boys. You can’t put pink in a boys hat, ya know. Even though these are adorable they are also going out as gifts.
Now I’m on to girl hats and I’ve ordered the yarn for a new baby blanket in soft pink.
I have two resources for knitting projects. One is local and one is web. If you’re not in my area check out Ravelry. You set up a profile similar to Facebook and such, but you can keep your knitting needle and crochet hook inventory there. You can also keep track of all your yarn stashes and current projects. I’ve found local knitting friends through this site. My favorite feature is the THOUSANDS of patterns available. About half of the patterns are free and half charge. Its like having access to every knitting book and magazine at your fingertips. FABULOUS!
You have to send a request to be invited to join and that takes a couple days but they approve everyone. I can’t remember why they do that.
My other resource is local and its the Handheld Knitting Gallery on Block Street in Fayetteville, AR.
Joy is my favorite there. I hope you’ll go see them when you have the chance.
Here’s my latest project (pattern & yarn purchased at Handheld)
If you’re a knitter check out my other projects on Ravelry. My name is “bugmccratic” and I’ll be glad to have you as a friend.
