The Most Supportive Bloggers in NWA
Stephanie McCratic

I know not all of you are local to my area (specifically, Northwest Arkansas), but a lot of you are. This article is mostly for y’all. If you’re a blogger you know that sometimes you feel quite alone and lost. WordPress is acting wonky or no one has commented in days and you’re not sure anyone cares that you bother to write.

There were many days as a blogger that I wished I had a local group of people I could commiserate (and celebrate) with. I found them! They exist! And they recently got together for a conference (which I was not able to attend, but they love me anyway).

There are several bloggers in NWA that now get together (somewhat) regularly. Of those bloggers I’ve compiled a list of the ones you should really get to know. Interact with them on Twitter. They are supportive, informative, curious, different, uplifting and genuinely fun people.

NWA Bloggers  to Know:

I cannot tell you how much I have learned from these ladies. Blogging, like anything else in this world, isn’t nearly as simple as it seems, and sometimes you just need someone to talk to about it.

If you’re interested in meeting some of these (and other geeky) people here are a couple of dates to put on your calendar.

  • Monday, July 11th 11:00 a.m. NWA Bloggers Meetup
  • Saturday, July 16th 9:00 a.m. Arkansas Women Bloggers Meetup (leave a comment if you’d like the details of this casual, Saturday morning coffee get-together)
  • Saturday, July 30th All Freakin’ Day Wordcamp Fayetteville

Who do you find to be super supportive in the bloggy land of the internets? Who is your favorite local twitterererer and/or blogger?

  1. I need you to come spend the week with me and bring all of your IP 5 knowledge:) I may get it down by Christmas!

    • Evolved Mommy

Lets spend the weekend on the lake playing with iPads!

  2. Flattered to be mentioned, Steph! Excited about making some future meetups. And, for those of you we missed at #AWBU (the Arkansas Women Bloggers Unplugged conference), do not fret – we have more tricks up our sleeves!

AllY’all (did you like that) be sure your blogs are listed on, won’t you please? Hope to see you all soon!

We’ll just resign ourselves to being #ARWB (Arkansas Women Bloggers) instead of AA members. Because I can assure you – I’m not quitting either! :)

  3. OhEMGEE! I didn’t even know there was a meetup group!! I missed the conference too, but I have two personal blogs, one I maintain for work, and I contribute to the NWAMotherlode… so, yeah, I guess I’m a blogger. :)

Can’t make the meetups this month, but will totally be looking for them in August!!

    • It’s like AA for bloggers. Except we don’t want to quit. So… I guess it’s not really like AA at all. But it is kind of like a support group, so maybe it’s just group therapy for bloggers.
You must come. See you in August.

  4. Lyndi,
You’re one of my bloggie besties. So, when do we meet for eating again?

You absolutely should go to some of these things. Do you use WordPress? Because wordcamp is awesome. I’ll email you the details of the Saturday morning coffee. Last time, which was actually the first time, it was just me and Angie Albright. The meetup Lyndi organized at Mama Carmen’s was much bigger. I think there were ten of us. So, hopeful she will do that again. (Are you reading this, Lyndi?)

  5. I guess I should get off my butt and go to some of these things, too, eh? I’m totally a local blogger. Yeah, when I blog. Really. I blog. I swear I do. :)

  6. Stephanie,

I am HONORED. Thank you for including me in your list . After meeting you at the Peekaboo blogger recognition last year, I knew immediately we would be friends. Thank you for turning me on to “31 Days to Building a Better Blog” and for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
