This morning the darling and I headed out for emergency pedicures as soon as I remembered we would be at the new Rogers Aquatic Center (a small waterpark) all day. This is the first public bathing suit wearing of the season, so my plan was distract any onlookers with sparkly fingernails.
Good news! The Rogers waterpart was so much fun nobody gave a flip about my fingernails or my cellulite.
For those of you who are local this is a great family activity. Even better: it’s a great way to guarantee a solid two hour nap from your littles. The center is open 11am-8pm Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6pm on Sunday. Charlie swam swam swam, and went down every little slide (she’s too small for the big kid ones with their 48″ requirement) more times than I could count. She splashed. I chatted with my friends. We ate hot dogs and swam some more.
There was even a trip around the lazy river that might have involved a lifeguard. I couldn’t seem to find my way out.
Love the architecture. It’s so Northwest Arkansas
This little girl could not wait to get in the water
And then she swam and swam and swam
Mama loves a good lazy river
It’s about time to get my toes in the water. Just two weeks ago it snowed.
Such grace balancing on the log
Welp. We can’t always be graceful.
She loved shooting strangers.
Really. She enjoyed this a little too much.
The whole place was so much fun.
And little Ella. I could take her home with me.
This is the play land for little kids
She really REALLY loved it.
The baby pool
She’s in charge here in the baby pool
OMGosh. If there’s a slide she’s on it.
Just one more time…
Amy, Angie, Beth and Me hamming it up
Look at how fancy!
Silly faces to round out the day
Thank you City of Rogers and Arkansas Women Bloggers for inviting us to preview the new aquatic center. We approve. It was a super day, and we will be back.
Evolved Mommy is about tech and gadgets as the relate to family life. We talk about Apple products like iPads, iPhones and pretty cases for iPads and iPhones. We talk about gadgets for the home like Nest thermostats and Roombas. We talk about nonsense and life in Northwest Arkansas. Whatever.
