Four months ago I made a rash decision on the way to dinner at Noodle’s Italian restaurant. My friends were there already; I was late, which is a little out of character for me and I was on the phone with Angela Belford.
We had partnered on a social media management proposal for a national product and she was asking how I thought the pitch went. As I was getting off of the freeway we were in the middle of talking about future collaborations when I heard myself say out loud,

Northwest Arkansas has once again been ranked one of the lowest cost of living cities in the country. What are your favorite things about NWA?
On Monday of last week I told my husband I knew something wonderful was about to happen. Later that same day I was driving to lunch with a new friend whom I had recently connected with at WordCamp Fayetteville when I had the same feeling and repeated the same words. Being a blogger definitely has its perks. Today I had the opportunity, thanks to the ladies at Arkansas Women Bloggers (if you blog go there and get plugged in), to spend the day with nine other Arkansas food bloggers at the Winthrop Rockefeller (yes, of those Rockefellers) Institute on the top of Petit Jean Mountain.
For those of you that don’t know, and I have to admit that it wasn’t that long ago that I was among you, it’s called a pergola. Pergolas generally have a series of slats that cross the top of them to provide different levels of shade throughout the day. Ours, thanks to the outdoor fabric canopy from the fine folks at Easy Gardener, provides nice, cool shade all day long.
