What? Like your home office is any stinkin’ better., a photo by Evolved Mommy on Flickr.
At night I tend to work from the couch instead of my desk, which really makes no sense because we don’t watch TV and it’s not any more comfortable than my desk chair.
If I get a new couch
Today I noticed that dog-hoarding crack house appeared to have been gutted, which hopefully means
For those of you that don’t know, and I have to admit that it wasn’t that long ago that I was among you, it’s called a pergola. Pergolas generally have a series of slats that cross the top of them to provide different levels of shade throughout the day. Ours, thanks to the outdoor fabric canopy from the fine folks at Easy Gardener, provides nice, cool shade all day long.
Ever since I was so graciously invited to P. Allen (just Allen to those in the know) Smith’s Moss Mountain retreat I have had gardening on the brain.
Y’all know my focus right now is supposed to be on our family finances, not on perfecting the family garden. However, I’ve figured out how to incorporate the latter right into the former. Woot!
We are still evolving as a financial free and responsible family. We’re definitely not perfect, but we started. That start turned into progress. We continue to work on our finances with the borrowed motto of: Progress, Not Perfection.
Recently, I’ve had more than a few self-pity parties over the fact that I have so much to do and never get to relax.
But what am I telling myself that “relaxing” is? When I’m driving home and my daughter is nodding off in the back seat I’m thinking about how much I really hope she will take a long nap so I can sit on the couch and do nothing for a while. Or maybe I can take a nap, too.
In reality, the guilt that washes over me if I sit on the couch, or heaven for bid lay down to take a nap is unbearable and I’m right back up in a matter of minutes. So what’s relaxing about that? Not a thing!
This weekend for whatever reason Newton’s first law of physics came into my head and won’t leave.
A body in motion will stay in motion and a body at rest will stay at rest.
One of my biggest pet peeves about my husband is that after he gets home, has pooped and eaten dinner he just wants to sit in front of the TV.
I hate that box of moving images (except on Modern Family night. Then I really love it).
