It may seem hard to believe, but we don’t spend enough time watching TV.  As a family, I mean.  Sure, it’s on. A. Lot.  But it’s usually just on in the background.  HGTV serves as a soundtrack to our Saturdays.  A cubs game might provide a little extra light in the living room, and of Spongebob is on the rest of the time.  Seriously, it’s on like 463 times in a row on most days.  But as a family, we just don’t watch much TV together.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs Steve

A snail and a monkey thought translator to the rescue!

Enter our latest Netflix finds.  Our daughter just realized that Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 is available and it has already replaced 70% of all Spongebob watching time.  A strange side effect of this is that we have joined her (way more than once) to watch it as well.  STEEEEVE!

We have also enjoyed watching Turbo, the story of the racing snail, and she loves the new Turbo Fast series.  It’s about, you guessed it, that same racing snail and his friends.  Good stuff, and it’s super safe for the kiddos.

But here’s MY favorite thing.  MST3K is on Netflix!  If I have to explain that acronym, then I’ve probably already lost you.  If you know that it stands for Mystery Science Theater 3000, then 1) I love you, and 2) Netflix is your new best friend.  I even got the wife to watch it.  She thought that she was going to just sit through it to humor me, but I saw her laugh at least once.  It’s hard to say if she really enjoyed it because I couldn’t see though my tears of laughter.

True story.  Now go watch for yourself.

This post is part of the Netflix StreamTeam campaign.  The opinions concerning Mystery Science Theater are Steve’s and Steve’s alone.
